Bandit Mudboss

Chassis

  • Stock production Traxxas Bandit or Bandit VXL chassis
  • NO modifications to chassis.
  • Electronics may be moved to the left side of the chassis, but must remain inside
    the chassis area.
  • Battery to remain in stock location
  • Traxxas Rustler chassis may be used, but must have ALL Bandit suspension and
    shocks.

Bearings 

  • Some Bandits have bushings in axle carriers and the transmission. These may
    be replaced with bearings
  • Ceramics Allowed

Bumpers

  • Front bumper part #2735. Bandit bumper mounted upside down 

  • Rear bumper for 2wd slash can be trimmed down, or RPM rear bumper is allowed

  • Rear bumper is required

Electronics

  • Traxxas Bl2 Brushless
  • 2s 5200 mah lipo hard case, 8.44v max
  • One 30mm fan for motor is allowed.
  • You may run the stock radio and receiver, or radio and receiver of choice. NO
    gyro or stability control allowed
  • $50 and under market value servo allowed
  • Servo horns allowed

Suspension

  • Stock Bandit shocks. Grey or Black. Internal limiters allowed. NO cutting of any
    springs
  • Aluminum shock caps are allowed
  • Stock Bandit front and rear control arms. No modifications. Arms must be
    mounted in factory production location and orientation
  • Front and rear camber links may be changed to those from a Bandit VXL. Part
    #s will be listed at bottom of rules
  • Front and rear axle carriers may be changed to those from a Bandit VXL or Slash
    ( same part. ) Part #s will be at bottom of rules

Wheels

  • 2.2 2wd buggy wheels
  • 2wd Fronts on front, rears on rear
  • You may run 12mm hexes to axles for wider selection in wheel
  • Any combination of grey or black traxxas hexes allowed.

Tires

  • 2.2 2wd buggy slicks allowed such as DE Phenoms or Raw Speeds.
  • 2.2 2wd buggy treaded tires such as Hoosiers, Proline Hotlaps, JConcepts
    Swiper, or Proline Mini G6T allowed. NO pin tires
  • If you have a question on legal tires send us a picture and we will
    approve/decline

Transmission

  • Must remain stock. Grease can be removed. Bushings can be replaced by
    bearings. Metal gears only. No plastic internal gears
  • No locked differential or slipper eliminators.
  • 76/83/86/90 Traxxas spur gears only
  • Pinion gear is open

Body

  • Ultimate RC Pitstop and GT Bodies are the suppliers for the bodies. They are the
    only two approved ones at this time. Other body manufactures will be evaluated
    as they come along. NO body modifications other than trimming for clearance.
    Traxxas or other body mount kits may be used
  • NO ALUMINUM body mounts allowed

Sportsman Mudboss

These rules are in correlation with the S.M.R.A rules with the exception of some, so please read carefully.

Chassis

  • STOCK Traxxas slash 2wd HCG chassis only. Can be grey or black. Chassis may be
    painted or died. NO other modifications or trimming of chassis allowed. The battery must
    be mounted in the stock chassis location using stock battery hold down. Hold down may
    be trimmed to clear battery wires. NO ALUMINUM chassis parts.
  • ALL electronics must be mounted inside the chassis parameter.
  • Traxxas bumper #2735 to be used as front bumper ( inverted mounting )
  • MUST have a rear bumper. Stock slash OR an RPM bumper may be used.
  • Stock Traxxas Slash plastic steering bellcrank system only. Bearings MAY be used
    instead of bushings.
  • Open Bearings throughout the car

Body

  • The body must be Salvas style, multiple pieces, and bolt together the body. NO molded bodies. (molded center section i.e. Salvas are ok ) MUST be dimensionally close to a
    Salvas. FINAL decision on legality of body is up to a track official. If you have a question about your body, reach out to a track official.
  • Sail panel bodies are not allowed

Battery

  • Hard case 2s lipo battery. 5200 MAH 8.44v MAX. NO bullet style batteries ( where wires plug into battery instead of being molded in.

Suspension

  • STOCK Traxxas 2wd suspension parts only. NO altering of parts. NO aluminum. NO
    RPM or other aftermarket.
  • Traxxas 2wd HD suspension parts ( control arms, axle carriers and caster blocks ) are
    allowed as the current new 2wd slash is built with them.
  • Suspension adjustments limited factory stock adjustments ( toe in/out, camber, roll
    center ) Toe links and camber links must be stock steel links. NO aluminum.
  • Control arms must be mounted in production location and mounted in production
    orientation ( no flipping rear arms )

Electronics

  • Two motor/esc combos will be legal. Stock Traxxas 12t brushed motor and XL5 and/or stock Traxxas BL-2S brushless motor and esc will be the ONLY class legal systems.
    NO MODIFICATIONS ALLOWED
  • Up to a $50 retail value servo is allowed. Metal gear kits are allowed. A solid servo arm is allowed. NOTE: Using a solid servo arm increases chances of steering bellcrank or
    servo gear damage.
  • ONE 30mm external fan is allowed for the motor
  • Open radio, stock radio is allowed
  • NO gyro or driving assist allowed. If caught, you will be DQed for the day/event.

Transmission

  • STOCK Slash 2wd 272 transmission. NO 272R. No modification to transmission cases allowed. Production STEEL internal gears ONLY. No aluminum or plastic internal gears allowed. Stock differential with no modification and ALL four internal spider gears. Differentials can be cleaned out with the racers choice of lube used. Differential function
    will be checked in tech.
  • Complete stock slipper clutch only. NO slipper eliminator.
  • Stock 2wd slash drive shafts. No aftermarket, no CV axles, no aluminum axles.
  • OPEN gearing. Any traxxas plastic spur gear. Any size pinion gear.

Tires and Wheels

  • STOCK Slash 2wd pre-mounted tires and wheels. S1 compound is legal. BF Goodrich,
    Kuhmo, Traxxas Hoosier or Spec tires. J Concept Dirt Tracs are allowed.
  • MUST be two front offset and two rear offset on the car. The position on the car is open.
  • Two black, two grey hexes must be used on the car. Position of the hexes on the car is open.
  • Tires MUST have tread. No SLICKS. Sanding and shaping tires is legal.

Shocks

  • STOCK plastic 2wd slash shocks. Grey or black. Fronts on front, rears on rear. Stock shafts in correct shocks. NO bending or modifying shafts. Shocks may be lowered with
    internal limiters. Stock shock pistons.
  • 5858/5857 or 5858p/5857p springs ONLY. Front springs on front shocks, rear on rear.
  • NO cutting of coils. NO LCG springs.
  • Aluminum shock caps allowed.

Big Block Mudboss

Body

  • Must fit salvas template

  • Sail panels are allowed

Chassis

  • TRAXXAS 2wd (SLASH or RAPTOR) LCG OR HCG CHASSIS ONLY.
  • Original 2wd Slash suspension parts only, no other parts allowed (such as from RPM)
  • Original MFG chassis parts only, no aftermarket hop-ups, no optional aluminum parts
  • RPM Rear Bumper P/N: 81002, 81003, 81005 is allowed.
  • TRAXXAS front optional bumper (TRA2735) can be used (angled down)
  • Major alterations to the chassis or modification to drivetrain/suspension components is
    not allowed
  • Electronics (rx/esc/amb) must be installed within chassis surface (no outside
    installation)
  • Battery brace can be trimmed to allow different LiPo battery wire configuration
  • Hinge pins can not be bent. Must be able to back out in tech. Arms may not be
    modified to alter rear toe
  • Traxxas steering may be used

Electronics

  • Any servo $50.00 or less retail price.
  • It is allowed to use a solid (one piece) servo horn (any brand)
  • 2-cell 7.4v LiPo battery with a maximum of 5200mah, 8.44 volts max
  • Open 13.5 motor and esc combo
  • One 30mm fan allow

Adjustments

  • Gears- 76, 83, 86, 90 spur gear with all transmission parts in place.

  • No modifications can be made to the transmission’s case (ie.. to allow a bigger gear ratio)

  • The only adjustments allowed to the car are those allowed by the original MFG components of
    the car

  • Hexes: Any combination stock hex spacer. (Black or Grey)

  • Transmission functionality rule (motor can not spin while turning slowly one rear wheel a full
    turn)

  • Traxxas SLASH *STEEL* transmission gears only (internal plastic transmission gears not
    allowed)

  • Adding weight (in any way) is not allowed, wheel balancing is allowed (sole purpose
    of balancing, not to add weight)

Suspension

  • TRAXXAS 2WD plastic shocks only (grey or black version) (fronts in front, rears in rear)
  • Original Rear(TRAXXAS 5858) and Front springs (TRAXXAS 5857) A max of 5 coils can
    be cut on front springs only. (no LCG kit springs or aftermarket springs)
  • May run Traxxas aluminum shock caps P/N: 2667, 3767a,g,t,p,x
  • Original shafts in original cylinder (length and type in proper cylinder)
  • Original pistons from kit only (original 1,2 or 3 hole), no modifications can be made to them.
  • No front bump stop suspension, a single original blue bump stop can be used per rear
    shock (not mandatory)
  • Limiters are allowed.
  • No shimming allowed (to reduce slop in suspension parts)
  • All suspension parts (such as A-Arms) must remain in original positions it was designed for
    (no swapping left to right)
  • Right Rear A-Arm allowed to be flipped upside down

Tires

  • Open rubber SCT tire, no pins
  • Inserts must match the tire as from the pack.
  • Must use 19mm and/or 21.5 Traxxas offset wheels only.

Bomber

Body

  • Open rubber SCT tire, no pins

  • Inserts must match the tire as from the pack.

  • Must use 19mm and/or 21.5 Traxxas offset wheels only.

Chassis

  • Stock Traxxas HCG only, 2wd, Black or grey
  • Open bearings
  • Can run aftermarket body mounts and bumpers as long as they mount as it bolts to
    components
  • Front and rear bumper must be on car
  • RPM hub carriers are allowed
  • 2 gray hexes on front, 2 black hexes on rear

Electronics

  • Traxxas XL5 with Titan 12t
  • Traxxas BL2 Brushless
  • NO MODIFICATIONS to motor/esc combo
  • $50 retail value servo

Shocks

  • Stock as they come out the box with no limiters.

  • Blue bump stops only in the rear

  • May change shock oil

  • 1 or 2 hole pistons only, all 4 must match

  • Front on front, rears on rear, same as shafts

  • Aluminum shock caps are allowed

Springs

  • Stock, Front - 5857/5857P, Rear - 5858/5858P

Tires

  • Stock Traxxas tires such as BFG, Spec, or Khumo/Khumo S1
