FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Whether you have been part of this community for years or just getting into it, we want to welcome anyone and everyone to our RC Dirt Oval and Off Road Track. If you haven't noticed, things are changing around the track constantly to always update and improve the quality of our track to represent our passion and love for this track.
Please check here for any updates to our guidelines and community standards, as well as find answers to questions we answer A LOT (to make it easier on everyone).
Guidelines?! Since when?!
In attempts to make this a more community centered space we are asking for you to be respectful with your language, tone, belongings, and opinions. We understand that tensions can get high in the mindset of a competition; however, we are here to have fun first and foremost. If there is an issue please let the staff know immediately.
We reserve the right to refuse anyone entry.
How can I volunteer?
Email us, send us a Facebook message, call our phone number, talk to anyone in a Sumter RC Staff/Crew shirt, or even send a carrier pigeon!
Is the track opened for practice?
The track is usually opened to anyone for practice laps. However, it is suggested to check our Facebook page, or send us a message before you go as we are often working on repairs and improvements around the property. (Please note, there now have security cameras up at the track.. Do with that information as you will.)
It's my first time visiting an RC Track. What do I need to know?
It is free entertainment if you are just coming to watch. We have benches that are mostly shaded, and we encourage you to walk around and greet our racers! Come on out and see if you like it.
I (My kids) want to race, but we don't want to purchase one yet. Are there any RC cars to rent?
Yes! We do often have some cars ready to race in our Novice classes. They are available for a $25 rental fee. Ask someone at concessions or any of the staff/Crew for additional information
I heard you guys are getting a TikTok and YouTube channel. When is that coming?
Soon! We are diligently working behind the scenes to get Sumter RC out in the world for everyone to see.
